RPG fire, 1 APC was totally destroyed when hit by RPG, caught on fire and

031320H Aug 69 C. YD318421. D. At above time and coord an M113
from the 4th plt was moving on a trail toward the plat CP when it
was ambushed by an est NVA squad armed with RPG’s and AK47’s. An RPG round hit
the track immediately setting it on fire and wounding 2, also in theinitial
burst of AK47 fire 3 other friendly WIA’s occurred. Arty and TAC Air immediately
pounded the area to assist the 4th plat. In addition B 1/77 was
moved to vie YD300425 to establish a blocking position. An initial sweep of the
area resulted in 2 NVA KBA (Napalm) and 1 NVA KIA. Sweep cont. until dark. E.
