Oct 19, 2012

Kelly Turner departed this beautiful world on Wednesday, Oct.10, 2012.

For 40 years he loved his home and his community of West Yellowstone. We are so very sad to say goodbye.

Kelly was born in Fort Worth, Texas, Aug. 9, 1950 and spent his youth in California. He honorably served his country as an Armor Crewman and Expert Marksman in the Army, receiving four Bronze Service stars: the National Defense Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Viet Nam Campaign Medal and the Viet Nam Cross of Gallantry.

Kelly married his companion and friend, Janna in 2001. Together they raised their bright, beautiful daughter, Madison and the sparkle in his eyes, Hayden.

Kelly’s life was filled with many simple pleasures, golfing, boating, baseball and going to “The Office.” His friends were often blessed with his many observant quips, fondly known as “Turnerisms”. Cha cha cha cha!!!

He will be missed by his many friends and loving family, and he will forever be in our hearts. Kelly is survived by family and friends, Janna, Madison and Hayden Turner of West Yellowstone, Mont.; his sisters and brother of Squim, Wash., Linda (Don) Rome, Denise (Joe) Martinez, Julie (John) Riffey and John (Lauren) Turner. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Beverly (Smith) Turner.

Interment took place on Monday, Oct. 15 at Fir Ridge Cemetery.

There has been a fund established for the benefit of Kelly’s children, Madison and Hayden, at First Security Bank.
