Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 22, in Rose Hills at 11:30 a.m. for Sgt. Gary L. Pflaster, 22. Gary will be buried with full military honors on his father's birthday.

The City of Paramount and the U.S. Post Office have honored his memory by flying the colors at half mast until his funeral.

Gary's widow Nanette resides at San Miguel Street with their three year old daughter Lynette.

Sgt. Pflaster was the son of Mr. and Mrs. George Pflaster, 16635 Eureka. A graduate of Paramount High School in 1967, he volunteered for the service two years ago and was due to leave Vietnam in a matter of weeks. Word was received Monday of his death in Vietnam Saturday as the result of an accidental explosion in the moving of ammunition by his company.

The Pflaster family is very well known in Paramount as Mr. Pflaster has been with the Post Office for 25 years and Mrs. Pflaster is employed in the City Clerk's office. His brother, Sgt. David Pflaster is home on leave from Davis-Monthan Air Base in Tucson, Arizona. He has just returned from Thailand. A sister, Terry Lynn Pflaster is an employee of Catalina Swimwear.

The Gary Pflaster Scholarship Memorial Fund has been established by friends of the family and it is suggested that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to the fund so that his name may be perpetuated with scholarships to deserving young people. Contributions may be mailed to the Chamber of Commerce, 15537 Paramount Blvd., Paramount, Ca, 90723
